Audit Questions Terror Spending ; State May Have to Pay Back Millions
DENVER - The state improperly used federal homeland security grants to build a $5.9 million emergency response center in Denver, according to an audit released Monday. Money for the state's new Multi-Agency Coordination Center, or MACC, was diverted from its intended purpose of protecting critical infrastructure throughout the state from terrorist attacks, the audit of the state's Homeland Security Grant Program found.
