Anyone who drives while talking on a hand-held cell phone at the Air Force Academy could be pulled over by security officers and lose driving privileges on the grounds for a week, the academy said Tuesday.

A 2005 Department of Defense policy banned drivers on military bases from using mobile phones, with an exception for people who use hands-free devices such as headsets or speakers.
