The man accused of starting the deadly Castle West Apartments fire has an extremely low IQ and relates to the world like a young child, his attorney said Thursday.

Derrick "Nicky" Johnson, 23, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree arson and six other felonies in the Jan. 16 fire that destroyed the 135-unit complex, leaving hundreds homeless.
