A Fort Carson soldier who was absent without leave was arrested Saturday for allegedly robbing a pawnshop at gunpoint, taking guns and selling them to other pawnshops, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Jason Jerome Jenkins, 24, a member of Fort Carson's 2nd Brigade Combat Team, was arrested by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Gun Unit and sheriff's deputies outside a motel on Platte Avenue around 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Clif Northam.
