DENVER - Drug retailers would not be allowed to jack up drug prices during a declared emergency under legislation considered Monday by the Senate.

Under SB 89, the state Department of Public Health and Environment would have the power to declare an emergency if there is a shortage of drugs essential to public health and safety.
