Brake Failure Blamed in Peak Fatal Crash

Summary


A Texas woman died after her brakes failed and she crashed while coming down the Pikes Peak Highway on Thursday night.

The driver, identified by Colorado Springs police as Nelda Joevelyn Trent, 66, of Seminole, died at Penrose Hospital early Friday. A passenger, Karen Trent, 41, her daughter, was treated at the hospital and released.
