2nd Brigade Gi Dies of Wounds ; Teen with Unit Headed to Fort Carson

Summary

Pfc. Aaron J. Rusin, a teenage volunteer firefighter from Pennsylvania who joined the Army to earn money for college, died Monday of wounds suffered in a firefight in Baghdad a day earlier.

The 19-year-old from Johnstown, Pa., was a member of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, a 3,700-soldier unit scheduled to move to Fort Carson next summer after a year of Iraq duty. The soldiers were stationed in South Korea until a Pentagon announcement last month assigning them to the Colorado Springs post.
