The grandaddy of local chefs' galas drew 443 people to Broadmoor West last Sunday, raising more than $40,000 for the Colorado Springs Chorale, a 130-voice, auditioned adult community chorus.

This 23rd annual culinary event, which saluted the 40th anniversary of Don Jenkins as chorale conductor and artistic director, drew compliments from patrons who sampled creative bison, lamb and pork comfort food dishes and lush, diet-killing desserts.
