The damaged Cimarron Street bridge will close for several months, probably in October, the Colorado Springs City Council indicated Monday.

Without taking a formal vote, the council concurred with a city engineering recommendation to close the bridge to shave 45 days off construction time and save $500,000. The closure will complicate a downtown traffic picture already clouded by the closure of the Bijou Street bridge, which is being replaced.
