Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse will receive a $250,000 tax break from the city of Colorado Springs in exchange for construction of a store along a troubled stretch of Academy Boulevard.
The City Council on Tuesday voted 6-2 to approve a maximum $50,000-a-year sales tax rebate for Lowe's for the first five years of the store's operation.
