DENVER - As a prelude to an 82-game season and what the Denver Nuggets hope will be a deep playoff run, the eight-game exhibition season can make for a long and tedious October. But perhaps no exhibition game will be as engaging for the Nuggets as tonight's opener against Milwaukee at World Arena. "We've been beating up on each other for two weeks now," forward Kenyon Martin said. "It's time for some new blood." But don't expect to see Martin, Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets' other stars play a lot.

Coach Jeff Bzdelik said after Tuesday's intrasquad scrimmage at Pepsi Center that the Nuggets' core players won't play much early in the exhibition season, building up to the Nov. 2 season opener.
