Local Defense Contractor to Hire Up to 30 Locally, 70 for Afghanistan

Intelligent Software Solutions, a Colorado Springs-based defense contractor, plans to hire up to 30 software engineers locally and up to 70 trainers in Afghanistan this year after the Air Force Research Laboratory boosted the value of the company's largest contract by $198 million.

The agency expanded the contract mostly to widen use of the company's data-analysis software and other software that tracks significant events - such as bomb explosions and troop movements - to accommodate the Obama administration's plan to boost troop levels in Afghanistan by 30,000, said ISS President Jay Jesse.
