A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers pedestrian bridge project near Fort Carson has hit a major snag that will cost El Paso County an estimated $115,000, the board of county commissioners learned Thursday.

Commissioners Amy Lathen, Sallie Clark and Darryl Glenn unanimously agreed to kick in the money, in order to ensure that a pedestrian walkway spanning B Street and an expanded railway system gets built. Commissioners Dennis Hisey and Peggy Littleton were absent.
