Wildland firefighters managed to contain a 150-acre grass fire before it reached four homes that were threatened north of Schriever Air Force Base, officials said.
The wind-driven fire broke out about 2 p.m. along North Curtis Road about a mile north of Ellicott Highway, said El Paso County sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Lari Sevene. The fire appears to have been caused by a work crew in the area.See the full content of this document
