Colorado Springs City Council members shelved plans to buy the old downtown train depot Tuesday, saying they need to examine more sites for a new transit hub.

The decision does not exclude the possibility of buying the Sierra Madre Street property, but it does let the depot's owners out of their contract with the city. Ken and Harlan Ochs did not say what their plans are as they left City Hall, but they have said other potential buyers have contacted them.
