Teachers from Palmer and Mitchell high schools became students Friday, learning from area business representatives a valuable lesson: The age-old complaint they frequently hear -- "I'll never use this stuff" -- isn't true.

"If a student says that to a geometry teacher, the teacher can say, 'Here's a real problem people at this manufacturing company are trying to solve right now, using math skills,'" said Leslie Wolken, a literacy resource teacher at Palmer High School.
