Summary
"Pi" (1998) -- When I saw this at its premiere at Sundance a decade ago, I knew Darren Aronofsky would be a director to watch. "Pi," made on a frayed shoestring of a budget, is a science fiction thriller about a mathematician who believes a certain transcendental number can unlock the secrets of God and the universe. The sheer artistry of the mathematician's cluttered, bug-infested lair is reason enough to see the film.
