Summary


Entertainment usually means fun, but in 2004 the industry more often mirrored the tumultuous events of the workaday world.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" brought election-year politics to the multiplex, an ill-conceived halftime show overshadowed the Super Bowl, filmgoers flocked to "The Passion of the Christ" and TV viewers swarmed "Desperate Housewives."
