Fire in Bear Creek Canyon Appears Under Control

Summary


A fire burning above High Drive in Bear Creek Canyon on the western edge of Colorado Springs appears to have been quickly brought under control by repeated strafes from fire fighting planes.

The area burning appeared to be the southwestern-facing slope above Sesame Canyon -- a steep, heavily wooded area. The fire is thought to have burned three to five acres.
