Phase One of Google's controversial online database of books -- Google Print -- has been launched, offering visitors access to the full text of books that have entered the public domain.

Google Print takes you into the stacks at Harvard, Stanford, the University of Michigan, the New York Public Library and Oxford University to index and browse until your eyes bleed.
