Guest Column: Memorial Decision-Making Process Needs Public's Input

Summary


The Memorial Citizens' Commission is less than two months away from making its final recommendation regarding the future ownership and governance of Memorial Health System. The nine-member volunteer panel is chartered by Colorado Springs City Council to lead this very important community discussion that will impact how health care is delivered in our region for years to come. Any recommendation of a change from the current model will go before the voters in April 2011.

The commission, for the past six months, has solicited viewpoints from national subject matter experts, from local and national health care providers, the local business community and human service providers and, most importantly, from the citizens of Colorado Springs, who own this institution.
