A Minnesota company that produces information storage equipment used in data centers has acquired a 100-employee research and development operation in Colorado Springs from Seagate Technology LLC.

The purchase by Eden Prairie-based Xiotech Corp. keeps 100 high- paying jobs in the Springs that were in danger if Seagate hadn't found a buyer for the operation, said Kara Roberts, vice president of local industry for the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corp.
