This walk near Caon City is a sure bet for hikers who want to avoid ice and snow, and a fun family hike through abandoned railroad tunnels.
To get there: Drive southwest on Colorado Highway 115 to Penrose. Turn west on U.S. Highway 50 and drive about 10 miles to Caon City. Drive through the city on the highway to where the road turns north past the Colorado Territorial Prison Museum on the western edge of town. Turn left onto Tunnel Drive.
