DENVER - A judge has slapped a political committee with a $36,000 fine for breaking campaign laws during a Colorado Springs legislative race last year.

Matthew Norwood, an administrative law judge, ruled the Alliance for Colorado Families -- a committee put together by Democrats to help gain a majority in the General Assembly -- crossed a line when it ran radio attack ads against Republican Kent Lambert in October 2004.
