Sandra Sherer, owner of the recently closed Cafe El Paso, rolled her eyes heavenward with her hands opened upward. "I gave my life to God and let him have his way," she said. "As soon as I gave it up, then things started happening - in a good way."

Sherer and her husband, Paul, owned the cafe for 10 years. At the end of October, they closed the doors on the restaurant business to turn their attention to building their blossoming food-packaging business.
