Nearly every Monday night for 20 years, Irene Kjeldsen has driven from her Black Forest home to the downtown YMCA, put on her swimsuit and slipped into the pool to lead an aquatics class.

Unlike the water aerobics classes or swim lessons that are the bread and butter of most neighborhood Y's, Kjeldsen's class is free. But it isn't open to just anyone.
