Man Will Stand Trial After Being Shot by Deputy

A convicted felon with a lengthy criminal record will stand trial on an attempted first-degree murder charge for allegedly trying to run over an El Paso County sheriff's deputy, a judge decided Tuesday.

Edward Lewis Johnson, 36, of Colorado Springs remains in custody on $25,000 bond. In addition to attempted murder, Johnson also has been charged with six other felonies, including theft, burglary and drug possession.
