Marie Wells Scribner, 93, of Perkins, OK, passed away June 8, 2004 at the Stillwater Municipal Hospital. Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Marie was born February 10, 1911 to Henry and Molly (McMurtry) Wells in Clearwater, KS. Marie married Glen A. Scribner on January 17, 1930 in Sterling, CO. Six children were born to this union. The couple moved to the farm near Perkins in 1982. Marie is the last of her generation to survive and was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1989 and one son, Gene.
Marie is survived by her daughter Elaine Schuette and husband Dwain of Phoenix, AZ; and four sons, Lloyd Scribner and wife Edie of Augustus, KS; Larry Scribner and wife Deborah of Guthrie, OK; Garry Scribner and wife Judy of Peyton, CO; and Bruce Scribner of Perkins, OK.; Sanny Scribner of Topeka, KS; Joyce Scribner of Guthrie, OK; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grand children and six great-great grandchildren.See the full content of this document
