Mountain Bikers Set for Three-Stage Race at Cheyenne Mountain

As many as 350 mountain bikers are expected to compete this weekend in the Carmichael Training Systems International Classic at Cheyenne Mountain State Park, trying to land a spot in the upcoming world championships and stake their claim for the 2012 Olympics.

There's a $10,000 purse for the top event of the seven-stop Carmichael Training Systems Summer of Cycling series, a three-stage International Cycling Union (UCI) race that acts as the last of five legs on the USA Cycling pro mountain bike cross country tour.
