DENVER - A bill sponsored by a black senator that would ban racial preferences in college admissions and government hiring was approved Thursday by a legislative committee.
"It may not be a cure for all, but it is one step to get, maybe in my grandchild's lifetime, a colorblind society," said Sen. Ed Jones, a Colorado Springs Republican.
