Sex Education Bill Loses Bite in House

Summary


DENVER - Lawmakers took the teeth out of legislation meant to give parents more control over what their children are taught about sex in K-12 classrooms.

House Bill 1375 originally would have required parents to sign a waiver clearing their children to participate in classes that would address sexuality -- particularly anything dealing with alternative relationships -- a dramatic change from the way school districts operate.
