Simtek Loses $1.27 Million in 4th Quarter ; Semiconductor Firm Blames Slower Sales in Military, Utility Meter Markets

Slower-than-anticipated sales in the military and utility metering markets resulted in falling revenue and a loss in the fourth quarter, Simtek Corp. said Thursday.

The Colorado Springs-based semiconductor company lost $1.27 million, or 8 cents a share, compared with a profit of $598,000, or 4 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue during the October-to- December quarter dropped 13.6 percent from a year earlier, to $8.36 million.
