Springs Residents Sweep Explosion Time Trial

Summary

It was clear that Mitch Hoke and Kelli Emmett felt at home Saturday at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. The Colorado Springs residents swept the men's and women's pro divisions of the Cheyenne Mountain Explosion time trial mountain bike race, which concludes today with the 5.7-mile cross country competition.

Hoke, a senior at Colorado College, took the men's division in 16 minutes, 44 seconds on the 3.5-mile course, 9:08 faster than his friend and fellow CC student Colin Cares. Doug Johnson, also a Colorado Springs resident, finished third in 17:27.07.
