If tradition matters, the edge goes to Sierra. Both the Stallions and Broomfield, opponents in today's Class 4A state tournament semifinals at the Coors Center in Boulder, have a history of hoops success.

But Broomfield, despite reaching the semifinal in four of the past 10 seasons, hasn't won a boys state championship since 1967. Broomfield reached the title game two years ago but lost to Montezuma-Cortez 46-39.
