Survey: Troops Helped Fill Empty Spaces

Summary


Fewer apartments were available to rent in the Pikes Peak region over the past few months, as the area's vacancy rate continued to fluctuate with Fort Carson troop movements, according to a survey by Apartment Insights, an online research company.

The average apartment vacancy rate for the Colorado Springs area fell to 7.4 percent in the fourth quarter, down from 7.8 percent in the third quarter of this year and 10.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the survey, released this week.
