A former Wasson High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student could spend the rest of her life in prison.

Gwen Anne Cardozo, 33, was charged Tuesday in 4th Judicial District Court with a pattern of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, a felony that carries a penalty of eight years to a life sentence. She also was charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
