The battle for Fallujah and other anti-terror operations in Afghanistan and Iraq are nearly every day demanding the last full measure from military personnel, not to mention many lesser forms of sacrifice. It is critical that we honor them. It also is critical that we not overlook the contributions to our security and freedom made by those who previously served and are now civilians.
Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of all who served, young, middle-aged or old, whether they returned from combat with a chest full of medals or served quietly and relatively anonymously far from the firing line, helping ensure wars were avoided.See the full content of this document
