Pooling resources to invest in renewable energy makes sense for big business as well as small homeowners. Colorado Springs Utilities is working on a large-scale solar power project that would pool the resources of a number of large organizations to build a single very large solar power installation.

Utilities spokesman Dave Grossman said the project would likely be smaller than the 6-megawatt solar array opened earlier this year at the Air Force Academy, but would be a large project, probably ground-based rather than on a rooftop.
