Summary


Some country folk, horse wranglers and their admirers are kicking around ideas for reviving the wagon train, a tradition that once inaugurated the El Paso County Fair that's been dormant for nearly a decade.

From the late 1980s to 1998, people driving horse-drawn covered wagons made their way across the plains to Calhan in the days leading up to the fair. Sometimes there were just two wagons, and sometimes as many as 20, said Bob Olson of Black Forest, who participated in nearly all the wagon trains.
