There's no replacing Shirley Snyder. When the Wasson gymnastics coach of 25 years and physical education teacher from 1960-2001 died of brain cancer in April, the people who knew the gregarious Snyder were devastated.

The loss of Snyder will be symbolized by local artist Charlie Green, who will create an 8-foot sculpture -- titled "A Missing Piece" -- out of steel that will be placed in front of Wasson High School.
